Under UK legislation as Veterinary Physiotherapist we work alongside Veterinary Surgeons as part of a team. Therefore, If your animal has a lameness, a veterinary referral form is required before treatment can commence. However, this is much easier than you may think! You can contact your vet using the form linked below, or drop us a message with your veterinarians details and permission and we can contact them directly for you.
If your animal is sound and only require maintenance physio, no referral is needed so just get in touch to get booked in!
Additionally, we welcome queries regarding veterinary referrals, treatment suitability, post-injury progress, changes in demeanour, reduced performance, maintenance cases, appointment availability, and what to expect during each session.
What Happens Next?
After contacting Charley, here’s what you should do:
1. Pre-existing Injury: If your horse is lame or has a veterinary diagnosis, a veterinary referral is required before treatment. You can ask your vet to complete the form below, or with your permission, I can contact your vet and arrange the referral for you.
2. Maintenance Cases: For maintenance cases (healthy animals with no known pre-existing conditions), no veterinary referral is required however please do ensure your animal is registered with a veterinarian. Please note, if a lameness is detected on the day of the appointment, treatment cannot commence until a veterinary referral form has been completed.
